James l Hamilton- Nicholas, who recently returned from sheep farming in New Zealand, has been charged at Kingsand, Cornwall, with murdering his father, a retired major in the medical corps. The son was in poor health. His father heard steps in the house at midnight, and found his son apparently demented. The son seized a sword from the wall and fatally, stabbed his father.

MURDERER ONCE IN AN ASYLUM. Received August 18, 12.20 a.m. London, August 17. Nicholas was a resident of Croydon, and was holiday-making in Cornwall. The Major recently went to New Zealand to bring home the murderer, aged twenty-eight, who had been in a lunati* asylum.
