The crop prospects in Victoria are excellent, and present indications point to a record season. SATISFACTORY STEAMER SERVICE. Received August 16, 1 a.m. Sydney, Last Night. The local pffice of the Union Steam Ship Company have advised that an agreement was entered into some time age with W. D. Spreckels for a passenger and cargo service from Wellington to San Francisco, via Tahiti. This has proved so highly encouraging that the service is to be indefinitely continued. THE BEiNDIGO TRAGEDY. Melbourne, August 15. Camelia McC'luskey' has been committed for trial on a charge of murdering her three children at Bendigo. REWARDS OF MARTYRDOM. Sydney, August 15. Gray, a released strike leader, was welcomed at Bulli and presented with a purse of sovereigns and a gold medal.
