SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS
The Tarahaki School Commissioners met yesterday, when there were present: Messrs. Jas. Wade (chairman), F. Simpson (Commissioner of Crwon Lands), and C. B. Major. ] Apologies were received for the absence of. Messrs. W! T. Jennings, M.P., anad A. Morton! The Eltham County Council asked what compensation the Board would require for land proposed to be taken for making a new road from Campbell road to Rotokare road.—Resolved, that the Board will facititate the matter by accepting the prairie value for about three acres proposed to be taken, as shown on the plan, subject to the Council making its own arrangements with the tenants for their compensation. The secretary reported the sole by auction of a section at Omona, adjoining Mr. McWilliam's property to Mr. McWilliam, whose property gave the only eccess to it, and at whose instance the land was offered.
The treasurer reported a balance of £f)Bf) Os 2d.

Mr. H. Halliwell, of Hawera, wrote that Mr. Goodson was not prepared to pay the whole cost of moving on to the correct boundary between his freehold and the Board's reserve leased to Mr. Riddle—lt was decided to reply that the matter lay between Mr. Goodson and the tenant.
Leave to transfer leases was granted as follows:—W. F. McAHum to John Nally, section 10, Manganui; R. M. Body to A. Cole, sec. 4, blk. 8, Waitara; J. Andrews to J. F. Young, sec. 8, bk. 13, Waitara. Leave to under-lease was granted:— W. Milne to C. Thompson, sec. 65, Manganui; F. Riddiford's trustees to A. G. and 'S. G. Larcombe. Mrs. M. L. tEHlerm nominated Mr. Corkill as sole arbitrator in fixing the rental for the renewal of her lease of a section in New Plymouth. Accounts amounting to £39 8s 4d were passed for payment.
