WEBSTER BEOS.' REPORT. Poultry.—Despite the wet weather we had a good entry of poultry last Saturday, those who sent 'birds in being amply repaid l by the high prices ruling. Owners would do well to .market their birds during the next few weeks as we 'have an unsatisfied demand for all classes of poultry. Prices realised as follows:—Hens, laying ibrown Leghorns 4s to 4s 6d, white Leghorns 4s Id, silver Wyandottes 2s 8d to 3s, crossbreds and old 2s Id to 2slld; pullets, brown Leghorns 3s 7d, crossbred small Is 7d to 2s 2d. cockerels (good) 2s 8d to 3s 6d, poor 2s to 2s Id; ducklings (two weeks) lOd, goldfinches 5s 6d per pair.
In the mart a large quantity of trees and sundries were disposed of. Meat—The usual quantity came forward, and was readily disposed of as follows:—Beef, sirloin 4d to 4V 2 d, rounds 3d to 3y 2 d, roasts 2d to 2 1 / 2 d, prime ribs 3d to 3y s d, ribs 2y 2 d to 3d, brisket 2d to 2y 2 d; mutton, legs 4y 2 d, loins 3d to 3y 2 d, forequarters 3d to 3y 2 d; rabbits is 5d to Is '6d per pair. Fruit—This has been in very fair supply during; the week. Apples are beginning to harden in price. We quote: •Apples, Stunners 7a to Bs, Epps' Seedlings 4s 9d to os 6d, oranges (re-packed) 10s 6d to Ids 6(3, .bananas (ripe) 3%d to 3d per lb, green 13s per case, mandarins 13s fid, pines lis 6d, passions 7s, lemons 8s Od, peanuts 2%d, walnuts 6d lb. Oakura Yards.—We held our opening sale at these yards on Friday last, when we had a large entry and a good attendance of Bidding was brisk throughout and sales were effected at the followirg prices:—Yearling steers £2 7s 6d, yearling heifers £2 16s to £2 17s, mixed vearlings £2 9s to £2 12s 6d, emotv heifers £3 Ms. 'bulls £2 9s 6d to £3 2s. sprineine cots £4 7s 6d to £5 ss, store cows £3 15s. A line of goats sold at from 23s to 265. Furniture—At Miss Trajan's residence, Vivian street, on Tuesday, we sold all her household furniture at satisfactory prices. The house, and section did not reach the reserve and is open for private sale. Clearing sale.—At Mr. Burrows', Smart road on Wednesday ,we had a good attendance of the public and spirited competition for the cattle and sundries. Forward dairv cows brought from £7 2s 6d to £lO lbs, later £3 2s 6d to £5 ss, empty cows £2 15s; spring cart £l6 2s 6d, reaper £6, plough £2 lis, rake £2. Sundries and furniture realised very satisfactory prices. On account of Mr. A. Colson, cows brought from £5 10s to £6, springing heifers £6.
L. A. NOLAN & CO.'S REPORT. Poultry—On Saturday we had a very good entry. Prices were about the same as the previous week. We quote: Hens, ordinary 2s 2d to 2s 9d, pullets Is lOd to 3s 6d, cockerels 2s 2d to 2s Bd, roosters 2s 3d to 2s 9d, ducks 2s Id to 2s 9d, 2s Id toASftpknxzfiflffffizfinffffi vbgkcj trio lis 6d, geese 2s 3d to 2s 9d, turkeys 4s 6d to 6s 6d. In the mart a large quantity of useful household furniture and sundries were disposed of at satisfactory prices. Fruit—The market has been much.better during the past week. Further shipments or Island oranges and bananas have arrived. There is a good demand for Nelson apples. We quote: Oranges 9s to 10s, bananas 12s 6d to 13s, mandarins lis to 12s 6d, passions ?s to,7s fld. Nelson apples, prime 9s to 9s M,g004 7s 6d to 8s 6d, French crabs 4s 9d to 5s fid, lemons (half cases) 2s 6d to 3s.

Griffiths and Co., New Plymouth, are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated July 1, 1910: Heavy rains have 'been experienced m most parts of the country, which is favorable for the continuance of a good make. . , . Danish: Quotation this week is unchanged and business has been steady. Siberian: Arivals this week total about the same as last, and there has been, a good demand far best quality. The show a material increase, and lower prices are looked for. French: Prices are unchanged, and tne quality this week has shown up rather better than last, on account of the cooler W Australian: The s.s. Orvieto arrived bh Saturday last with about 5000 boxes,; and we are pleased to say these regular arrivals help to sustain the interest m colonial, and many buyers are still using the butter al lthe time. The quality of the Orvieto shipment shows some irregularity, and faulty butters are difficult to clear, but for finest quality there is a good demand. Now Zealand: There is practically no* thin* on. the market this week, but the a a Ithenic is now due and brings about 2000 boxes of butter, Which should toe ready for delivery next week. Cheese.-Canadian: The quality is now showing some improvement, and some buyers are how turning their attention to this in preference to 'New Zealand, the last arrival of which, in some cases, was not up to the usual standard. , New Zealand: There is again a fair demand. Although no arrivals xznflffm demand. Although there have been no arrivals this week there is sufficient stock to work on.
