CROP REPORTS.
FAIR AND AVERAGE CROPS ASSURED. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received August 10, 10 p.m. London, August 10. The Washington' correspondent of the Times reports that the Government crop reports show that fair and average, harvests are assured. The crop "calamity previously prophesied is but a remote possibility. Winter wheat is likely to approach the record of 1906, while spring wheat will be considerably below that of 1909.
The Times, dealing with British crops, says that owing to the cool and moist summer, fine weather is required to complete the harvest* hopes. The threatened potato crops have been increasingly affected by disease. Hay is also injured in many cases, but the season is likely to be fair.
