Witness found Sheard wth his little girl on his back to an objectionable manner. The child was calling out. Witness rushed up and pulled her away. Sheard fell backwards with his head near the stone gutter. Deceased rose, fell again, and remained on the ground. Deceased appeared to 1 have been drinking, and was staggering with the child on his back. After he first fell there was blood in the gutter where he struck his head. Witness, in answer to the police, said he did not push or jostle deceased in any way. | The Coroner said it was quite clear that deceased had no business acting as he had with children. A parent iinder such circumstances would be justified in using a certain amount of violence,' but it was, of course, a question of degree. It was desirable that the jury should have the full facts.
