TYPHOID IN DURHAM.

The medical officer of the Local Government Board has made a scathing denunciation of domestic sewerage and public scavenging in the mining district of Durham County, which has the highest death rate in England. Shellfish, and particularly mussels, are a frequent source of enteric.
