N.Z. A. A. A. MEETING. (By Telegraph—'Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night. The council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met to-night. The Otago centre offered £lO towards the cost of sending the New Zealand team to compete at the Inter-State cross country championship i-a Tasmania. It was decided that as the date of this event clashes with New Zealand crosscountry championship, the team cannot be sent. There was a long discussion in regard to a letter from Auckland centre with reference to Wilson's application for the New Zealand three miles walk record. Tli" chairman had ruled at a 'previous meeting that the record could not be passed, as the application had not been made within sixty days oi the performance. This 'was upheld by tonight's meeting. The request of the League of New Zealand Wiheelmen for reciprocity in Tegard to disqualifications was agreed to,, provided the League falls into line with the Association on certain points where the rules of the two bodies now differ.
The Queensland shield was awarded to Wellington centre for scoring most records and standards at the New Zealand championship meeting.
