' THE MONEY MARKET.
Three months bills are discounted in London at 2 1-1(5 per cent; in Paris the nate is 2>/ 8 per cent., and in Berlin 3 per cent. (The bank rate for three months and short loans is 1% per cent. GOVERNMENT SECURITIES. Consols, £Bl 15s. New Zealand Uy 2 per cents, £9B ss. Perth 3% per cents., £97 10s. Other stocks are unchanged. LONDON MARKETS. Wheat—A continuance of the unfavorable reports from America, Canada, (Russia, and France has maintained the markets, but at the close prices were rather easier on news of the better conditioßH conning to hand regarding crops in Britain, and excellent prospects of the German crops.. Buyers are eautious, awaiting developments; 30s 6d was asked for South Australian May and Victorian April delivery, and 37s 9d for New South Wales April. There is good enquiry for Australian spot at 39s 6d, and for New Zealand at 32s Od to 36s 6d.
Flour—Market firm. Australian patents, 27s Gd to 28s fid ex store. Barley—Manket firm. No business being done in Australian. Oats —There is little business. Best Gartens, spot, 17s 9d to 20s; sparrowbills, 17s 8d to 17s 9d; La Plata August and September, 13s 4y 2 d.
Butter—Manket nominally unchanged, Colonial r'.ite neglected.
Clii^e—Market firm. New Zealand white, 575; eo'ored, 555; Queensland, poor quality and ilavor, 48s to 50s. Copper—jSpot, £53 3s !)d; three montihis, £55 17s Od; electrolytic, £SB. Tim—Spot, £149; three months, £l5O 2s fid.
Spelter—£22 10s. Iron.—£4o. Sugar—German, 14s 8d; first marks, 16s lid.
Wool—The Bradford wool maricet is quiet. .Forty's, 14% d; forty-sixes, 1 C)%d; common sixty's. 20% d; super, 27% d; sixty-fours, 28%.
