SUPREME COURT.
I PROBATION GRANTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. At the Supreme Court to-day August Rewti Wallace, a young half-caste, was admitted to probation for twelve months for theft at Otaki Convent. He was ordered to pay £2 12s, costs of the prosecution. Kenneth McGregor, a youth, came up for sentence for indecent assault at Marton, and was admitted to probation owraj* to his youth. His Honor eaid for two such offences prisoner was liable to an indeterminate sentence. BREAKING AND ENTERING. Wellington, Yesterday. Alfred John Wanstall was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment for breaking and entering at OQvakune. The Chief Justice said the man would be declared a habitual criminal next time he was convicted.
