At the specia® board's enquiry into the Richmond railway disaster, Smith, the engineer, gave evidence that none o< the people in the carriages of the two trains were under eighteen years, and none over 27 years old. The block recorder is the South Yarra signal bor stated that the fog was so dense that he could not see the trains in the station at Richmond, and gave them a clear line. I
