VIOLENCE AT BROOKLYN. By Gable.—Press Association.—Copyright New York, July 28. Strikers at the American Sugar Company's works, Brooklyn, who are mostly Poles, exchanged shots with the police. One was killed and two wounded. MINERS WITHDRAW FROM WAGES BOARD. Sydney, July 29. Officers of the Miners' Federation state that they .will withdraw from the Wages Board, owing to the Judge's refusal to dissolve the board with the view of removing Mr. Pattrson. SLAUGHTERMEN MAY GO OUT. Sydney, July 89. During the past week trouble has threatened amongst slaughtermen. The masters decided to substitute piecework instead of a weekly wage, and the men Tefused to accept the change. Many think a strike cannot be averted.
