Mr. William Gabbott, of Akaroa, is at present constructing an aeroplane, and hopes to 'have it ready for flight in about two months' time. He will ihold a trial i on German Bay beach, and' will attempt to illy from German Bay to Robinson's Bay, a distance of two miles. If this fly is successful the demonstration on regatta day, 16th December, will consist of a fly from German Bay to the Maori irflilr, the machine passing over Okaroa at a hejght of 400. feet. The engine Mr. Gaibbott proposes to utilise for his aeroplane is a four-cylinder one of 25 horsepower.
