TWO AEROPLANES DESTROYED. By Gable—Press Association.—-Copyright London, July 28. Two aeroplanes belonging to Mr. A. V. Eoe were burned in a train in Lancashire, en route to Blackpool aviation meeting.
A DISAPPOINTED CROWD. ■ Received July 29, 10.35 p.m. •London, July 29. Owing to the unfavorable wind and also the airmen's unpreparedness preventing aeroplaning at the Blackpool meeting, disappointed crowds broke tke barriers. The police had difficulty ill protecting the officers'. ' The people's money was refunded. •ATR&TTTP BUILT BY AKAROA MAN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Friday. Mr. William Gabbott, of Akaroa, is at present constructing an aeroplane, and hopes to 'have it ready for flight in about two months' time. He will ihold a trial i on German Bay beach, and' will attempt to illy from German Bay to Robinson's Bay, a distance of two miles. If this fly is successful the demonstration on regatta day, 16th December, will consist of a fly from German Bay to the Maori irflilr, the machine passing over Okaroa at a hejght of 400. feet. The engine Mr. Gaibbott proposes to utilise for his aeroplane is a four-cylinder one of 25 horsepower.
