GOVERNMENT AID DESIRED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, Last Night. The annual meeting of the 'Now Zealand Flaxmiller's Association was held to-day. The report dealt with the year's work and the prospects of the industry. The question of a Government boons for labor-saving machinery was referred to, and the executive expressed the hope that something would be done by tine Government. Mr. Seifert favored a fixed grading standard in respect to color and strength. It was'decided .to remind the Minister of his promise to appoint Mr. Ferris! *S chief grader, and to again communicate with the Minister regarding the Government bonus for labor-saving machinery. Comment was made as to the poorness of the sheds at Wellington used lor tke grading of hemp. It was impossible to judge color in them. It was decided to approach the Department and also the Harbor Board. Mr. Louis Seifert was elected president, Mr.. R. T. Bell vice-president, and Mr. J. Liggins treasurer.
