In the House of Lords, Lord Beauchamp, on behalf of Lord Crewe, and in teply to Lord Ampthill regarding the deportations of Indians from the Transvaal, said that every opportunity would fee afforded Indians to prove their domicile in South Africa. Many absolutely refused the information. He added that the Government was continuously seeking a solution of a grave situation. The Government had brought all the allegations of ill-treatment under tihe Transvaal's notice. The Union Government m 8 carefully considering the question of policy regarding the Indians lawfully resident there, but were unable to agree to unrestricted immigration.
