WELLINGTON BEATS AUCKLAND, An interclub match between teams representing the Wellington and Auckland clubs was played at Wellington on Saturday. The links were in a most unfavourable condition, being wet and sodden, and the putting greens were muddy and heavy, which, consequently, wa® against good scoring. The individual games, with tllie exception of the one between Arthur Duncan and ,T. C. Burns, were of a mediocre 'description. Duncan eventually beat his opponent by 3 up and 1 to play, after a keen contest. The following are the scores in the A Team Maitch, the game being a two-ball com petition':— A. Duncan (W.) beat ,J. C. Burns (A ) A. .T. Abbott (W.) beat H. Gillies (A.) W. Eeid (W.) beat Dr. Bamford (A.) . / • H - MacEwan (W.) beat P. Upton (A.) The same (team played a four-ball match, which resulted as follows Duncan and Abbott (W.) beat Bums and Gillies (A.)
