The Daily Mail states that Crippen and the girl Le Neve went to Margate on S>fch July and crossed to Boulogne next day in an excursion steamer, thereby avoiding examination. The officers of the latter are doing their .utmost to prevent the suspicious of the runaways being aroused. They are being watched for fear they may commit suicide. The passengers have not been informed of th«ir identity. The Montrose sailed two days after the Laurentie. The reported arrest is not confirmed, j Reuter announces by wireless telegraph that Crippen and Miss Le Neve are'under arrest aboard the steamer Montrose, which sailed from Antwerp for Montreal. The Daily (Express states that the fujgitives were overheard talking of their escape. Both were arrested on Saturday and guarded in separate cabins. lOriippen was deprived of a revolver and a pen-knife. The girl Le Neve wept, and offered to make a Statement to tfte police. Cnippen demanded to know what offence he was charged witih. He was told that he had contravened the law by representing that his companion was a boy and giying her a false name. The phronicle says that Crippen vasj very leisurely in his movements in Belgium. He affected no hurry to sail. He pretended that he wished to sail by the Momtrese on her next voyage viz., on August 31, and arranged to pay in August, but learning that there was no double-berth cabin ayailable in August he decided to go immediately, and arranged to pay extra for such accommodation . He inquired whether he had the option of disembarking at Quebec or Montreal', and received a reply in the affirmative. J
