The final day of the Wellington Racing Club meeting touk'place under adverse circumstances, rain falling nearly all the day. The course was very heavy. Entering the straight, Corazon took command and had the riftce won, but baulked and refused to jiittip the last hurdle, Waione. getting home by some 30 odd lengths. Capitol fell. Time, 6min. 11 l-ssec. Winter Oats, one mile.—California 11.13, (Gray) 1; Sir Frisco 11.4, 2; Bollin 10.7, 3. Kia Ora Handicap, six furlongs.—Tuia Toa 10.2, (Griffiths) 1; Valentine 9.10, 2; Niwaru 9.2, 3. Also started: Gold Battery 10.7, Stepalong, Ukraine and Mediterranean. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin 26 2-ssec. Totalisator permits were granted for the season 1909-10 to the number of 127. For 1910-11 136 have been applied for.
