Dr. Forbes Winslow publishes letters in support of his theory that Jack-the-Eipper was a native of Melbourne, educated at Scots College there, and that he returned to Murrumbidgee or Melbourne after the murders in 1889. and is now in South Africa. A Melbourne ladv writes to Dr. Forbes Winslow: "Your tracking of Jack-the-Ripper frightened him off returning to Melbourne, and he worked his way to the Murrumbidgee before starting for Enffland'. TTe (rained his surgical knowledge from a. medical friend. His wife died from natural causes. The 'Ripper' confessed his London atrocities to the writer, who reported the matter to the Scotland Yard authorities, but they disregarded the information thus given. The •Ripper' often attended St. Paul's in Melbourne."
