YTELLiIXfiTOX MEETIXG.—SECOND DAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. For the second day's racing of the Wellington Racing Club's winter meeting the course was sticky. The totalisator receipts for the day were £14.11(5, as against t15.553 for the corresponding day of last year. The bookmakers licensed numbered twenty-five. Following are the results:—

Glasgow Handicap, five furlongs. T. Wylie's Dogger Bank, 10.2 (M. Ryan), 1; Advantage, 10.0, 2; Scotch Plaid, 9.4, 3. Won by half a length. Time, lmin Ssec. Karori Handicap, six furlongs.—Hon. J. D. Ormond's 'Elfish, 10.0 (Jones), 1; Gold Battery, 9.13, 2; Niwaru, 9.0, 3. Won easily by a length and a-half. Time, lmin 23 2-ssec.

Victoria Hurdle Handicap, one mile and a-half.—R. 'Hannon's Master Paul, 10.0 (Brady), 1; Kremlin, D.9, 2; White Lie, 9.5, 3. Won anyhow by twenty lengths. Time, 2min 59sec. Wellington Steeplechase, about three and a-quarter miles. —J. Twohill's Capitol, 11.0 (Brady), 1; Red McGregor, 11.1, 2; Sir Lethe, 10.2, 3. Won by Cwo lengths. Time, 7min 16see. Waterloo Handicap, seven furlongs.— C. L. Lagor's California, 11.2 (H. Gray), 1; Sir Frisco, 11.0, 2; Multiple, 9.13*3. Won by a length and a-half. Time, lmin 36 2-ssec. Jumpers' Flat Handicap, one mile and a-half.—J. Westerman's White Cockade, 0.13 (W. Peter), 1; Compass, 10.12, 2; Gaelic, 9.3, 3. Won by three lengths. Time, 2niin 53 4-ssec. Thorndon Handicap, five furlongs—H. W. Parata's Rongomai, 9.8, 1; Contendent, 11.9, 2; Valentine, fI.G, 3. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 8 4-ssec.

Mr. Frank Eliott, of Awakino, was the purchaser of the well-known mare. Lady Fisher, with foal at foot by Field Battery, and stinted to the same sire, at Mrs. McGuinness' sale yesterday. The price paid was 455 guineas. The mare was formerly the property of the late Mr. John Eliott, father o? the present buyer.
