MONUMENT TO A GREAT POLE
UNVEILED BY PADEREWSKI. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright Vienna, July 18. Paderewski received an ovation at Cracow, where he unveiled a colossal statue of King Jagellon, a former Polish monarch, on the occasion of the sixth centenary of the battle of Tanneberg. The statue, which cost £20,000, was erected by the famous pianist at his own expense.
