Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Racing Club's winter meeting opened in fine but threatening weather. The attendance was good, and the going heavy. Tauira, the favorite, had the inside running, and got the .best of a bad start, caused mainly by the playing up of Paritutu and Whatakura. 'Entering the straight for the first time, Paisano had the lead by ten lengths, and wa3 never troubled all the way, winning by a length, four lengths separating second and third. Time, 4min 5 l-ssec.
