(From Our Own Correspondent.) The North Taranaki Dairy Company pay to suppliers for June milk £133 3s ad, an increase of £2B on the corresponding period of last vear. The milk supplied totalled 87,331*11,, and butter produced was 41)9011,. The Waitara Company pay £283 10a 3d for June milk, which shows an increase of £135 18s lid. Milk supplied totalled 131,3181b, as against 75,180 ib for the corresponding period of last year. Butter produced increased from 431121b to 82071b, an increase of 3815|b, equal to 1 ton 14cwt 71b. There was an exhibition at Mr. Beckhessingcr's shop yesterday of two of the presents made to Mr. and Mrs. Spurdlo by the Clifton Rowing Club recently. Suitably engraved plates have been put on the articles.
At a meeting' of members of the Clifton Football Club last evening the capa wor at the seven-a-side tournament at Urenui recently were presented. At a sitting of the Licensing Bench yesterday a wholesale license was granted to Mr. A. H. Hatrick, of Wanganui. At the Magistrate's Court, before Mr. Reid, S.M., G. Petch, for driving a bull through prohibited streets, was fined u)s and 17s 6d costs. N
For exceeding a walking pace in driving a motor-car over the Waitara bridge Sexton was fined 10s and 7s costs. James Davidson was mulcted iu a fine of os and 7s costs for driving through the town without lights oh his vehicle, the fine being made light on account of the fact that Constable Lapouple said the defendant was exercising due care by walking.
On the application of Constable Lapouple prohibition orders were granted against Xed Punga and Roc jtfata, neither being opposed. Judgment by default was given in the cases of H. Langman v. In the ease of J. H. Colesby v. Jordan and Co., in which the case went by default at the last sitting of the Court, defendants applied for a new hearing. The Magistrate adjourned the hearing for fourteen days to enable an answering affidavit to be filed by plaintiffs solicitor. Costs were allowed the plaintiff. Judgment summonses: A. C.< Marr v. William Bailey, claim £2l 14s, sd; an order for payment to be made* within two months, in default seven days' imprisonment. Albert T, Lake v. Daniel Stockman, claim £3 18s; order made for payment within three months, in default three days' imprisonment. Same v. John Adams, claim £2 Os 8d; order made for payment within two months, in default 24 hours' imprisonment. W. P. Snell v. Kahu Heremia, claim £4 5s 8d; order made for payment within three months, in default 48 hours' imprisonment.. H. Langman v. Push, claim £1 6s 6d, to be paid within two months, or 48 hours* imprisonment. Thirty-nine cases were either adjourned, not served, confessed, or paid into Court. Altogether seventy-two cases were set down for hearing. For the half-year ended 30th June 20!) cases had been placed in the hands 4>f the Cleric of the Court, which 130 more cases for the half-year .than for the whole of the previous year. Needless to say, this work occupies a very considerable of Constable „Loptmple's time, and shows the necessity, for an additional constable to cope with ordinary police work.
