The Governor's Speech promised Bills to purchase estates for closer settlement, railway and tramway construction, unimproved capital value tax. and amended income tax. The Leader of the Opposition gave notice of a no-confidence motion in connection with Ministers' action with regard to the shipment of timber to England. NO-CONFIDENCE MOTION IN VICTORIA. Melbourne, July 13. The Parliamentary Leader of the Opposition has given notice of a no-confi-dence motion. The House has adjourned.
A SWEEPING PROPOSAL. Received July 14, 0.50 a.m. Melbourne, Last Night. In the Federal House Mr. Bamford gave notice of a Bill, to abolish State Governments and the division of the Commonwealth into provinces, each having a single House of 'Parliament with such powers as the Federal Parliament thinks fit to confer.
