There - was a large , { attendance of dancers, the floor being, .jovercrowded. Mr. Frank Thomson made! I an effcient M.C.. Messrs. Beadle (piano)v . Wilson (cornet) and Whitehead (violin) I' supplied excellent music. Supper was. , provided by the ladies. , j [I The meeting night of the Inglewood , ( Debating Society has been altered from .; Tuesday to Wednesday. The next even-, r j ing will be devoted to impromptu' r speeches. I ~ A meeting of the Executive Commit-1 i ! tee of the Tai-anaki Ladies' Hockey As- ; I sociation was held on Monday, Mr. J. H. | l Eowe presiding. There were present, , delegates from Otakeho, Kaponga, El-1 . tham, Stratford and Inglewood and the' secretary. It was decided that a leaml ; ' be sent to represent the Association at ['the forthcoming Nelson tournament Ai ;! trial match, North v. South, will be i held on July 30 for the purpose of seilecting a rep. team, and afterwards two i matches, Probable v. Possible, all to be played at Stratford. It was decided | decided that the team wear black skirt I and blouse', amber belt, amber and black] caps and amber tie, samples, etc., to be' obtained from the New Zealand Clothing Company. The secretaries of the! clubs will forward names of all those players who are able to make the' trip. Messrs. Porte (Otakeho), Sargent (flawera) and Matheson (Kaponga) were j nominated as joint selectors for the Southern, and Messrs. Nicoll (New Ply- . mouth), Dewhirst (Inglewood) and Peninington (Eltham) for the Northern. Mr. I R. B; Anderson was appointed sole S3lector for the rep. team. ' L The fine building in course of con-, (struction in the corner opposite the ! Post Office is nearing completion, find j promises to add considerably'to the air of importance and prosperity which Inglewood wears. Work on the new technical school is also being pushed on, and that building will soon, be completedl Croocf reports are to hand with regard to the 1 progress being made by Mr. Hy. Brown, who hopes to return' to Inglewood shortly in full possession of his former health.
