TRADE STATISTICS.
AX AMENDED FORM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. The Labor Department has agreed to a compromise in the matter of the statistics which it desires to obtain from employers throughout the Dominion. New forms providing for very much less detail than was previously asketi lor •have been approved by the Department, and are now being issued to employers. The Department at first proposed to accept this condensed style of returns from firms employing fifty or more hands, but has now consented to accept it from all those employers from whom information of the kind is required. Mr. W. Pryor, secretary of the New Zealand Employers' Federation, states that that body has agreed to the Department's amended proposals, and has undertaken to give the Department every assistance in obtaining as complete returns as possible.
■- 'This matter was recently discussed by the Chambers of Commerce in the Dominion, and the concession is doubtless due to their efforts.
