WAREA. (From Oar Own Co'.T n spnri"leii'l. v A social-was given- on Wednesday night by Mr. and Mrs. Clothier to celebrate the approaching wedding 01 tneir two daughters, Doris May and Gladys Jeken. The weather was wet; tts usual, but in spite of all, the room was crowded. During the evening several songs were given bv the Rev. C. Addenbrooke, Edward Ehvin, Cyril Ballard, William Larking and Timothy Howel's, while' Mr. Strong Taylor gave some ot his amusing recitations. About midnight a sumptuous sit-down supper was partaken of.' Shortly after supper, Mr. Addenbrooke gave a short speech, appropriate to uie occasion. Three cheers were given for the respective couples, and also for Mr. Addenbroke. Dancing was kept going until close on daylight, owing to the pouring rain. Excellent music was supplied by Mr. Pearson/ of Omata, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by ,Mr. Elwin Clothier.
The second of the scries of euchre parties and dances, in aid of the hall fund, was held last Wednesday night. The night was again wet, and a very poor number turned up. The ladies' prize was won by Mrs. H. Corbett, while the gentlemen's prize was won by Mr. Fred Harvey.
