Sydney, July 1. 1 The Metropolitan Rugby Union rejected by a large majority a, proposal I that employers of members representing a State or the Union be reimburseu the amount of ordinary salary when men were away from employment playing. TARANAKI RUGBY UNION. A meeting df the Management Committee of the Taranaki Rugby Union was, held last night. Present: Messrs. W.| C. Cargill (chairman), T. Buchanan, J.| Clark, J. McLeod, H. Chalmers. DISQUALIFICATIONS. Home (Inglewood), for rough play, till end of the season. B. Ryan (Waimate), for deliberately kicking an opponent, until end of season 1913. (Ruru Sam (Okaiawa), for striking an opponent, till end of season. PROTEST. The Waimate thirds entered a protest against Okaiawa thirds for playing F. Radford and C. Bryan. Referred back to the Waimate Club for proof. REP. MATCH. The following rep. matches were arranged: Manawatu July 14, at Hawerajj Wellington, August 25, at New Plymouth; Auckland, September 3, at Auckland; Wanganui, August 13, at Ha-j wera. It was decided to suggest to Canterbury, August 18 as a date for a match. GENERAL.

The matter of rearrangement of fix! tures for junior matches, consequent on ( the withdrawal of the Opunake teams, was referred to the chairman and Mr.i Chalmers to attend to.

Mr. H. Wilson wrote suggesting a] match between the present day reps, and old-time reps.—The suggestion was favorably received, and it was decided to play the game if it can be fixed, the proceeds to be devoted to the Bayly Memorial Scholarship Fund. The chairman reported that he had arranged for a canvass of Hawera next week in aid of funds for the Bayly j Memorial Scholarship.

The Eltham Club appealed for a refund of referee's expenses from the Clifton Club. Decided to apply to Clifton Club for amount.
