(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, Last Night. Mr. J. A. Corney, manager of the Kaponga Dairy Factory, and formerly manager of the' Moa Dairy Factory, has been 1 appointed to the position of manager of the Tarata Company. On Thursday evening the school social is to be held. Extensive preparations are being made, and tickets are selling well. Inglewood's rainfall stands at 11.6 inches for June. The roads and streets are cutting up badly with the recent rain, and if it continues they will soon become almost impassable. The new Presbyterian manse is now complete, and the Rev. Mr. Albert took possession on Friday last. The total cost is something over £6OO. At Mr. Gamlin's farm at Durham Road a demonstration in stump-removing was held. The trial proved satisfactory. The fortnightly meeting of the Inglewood Debating Society was held in the Druids' Hall on Tuesday evening. There was a small attendance of members only. "Prepared speeches" filled the bill for the evening, the contributors toeing Messrs. J. Currie ("Rome v. Britain"), T. E. Hamerton ("Hints to Debaters"), and 0. M. Boldt.("Causes of Our Unhappiness"), Criticism was free, and an enjoyable evening was spent.
