AMUSEMENTS.

WAIREKA PIEBALD MINSTRELS. I •There are many patent medicines advertised, but a sure cure for despondency is to visit the Waireka Minstrels at West End on Thursday night. Old married men, bring along your wives. The performance will remind you ol the days of your youth, when you paid aj high price for a performance not as I good as you will get for one shilling. | Economical young men, bring along your sweethearts and have a real good time for two shillings. If you have not been successful in convincing the lady to say "Yes" to the all-importa.nt question, you are sure to succeed if you ask her on the road home. She will be in such a happy moo# that life will wear its most roseate hue, and that is the time to get engaged—when a woman is merry.

"BROWNE WITH AN E." At the entertainment to be given in St. Mary's Hall to-morrow evening on behalf of the church organ fund, Miss Clarice Buckman, who is spending a few weeks in New Plymouth before going 'to Australia, will sing, by special request, Mr. Alfred Hill's deliglitful Maori poi song, "Waiata Poi." The farcical comedy, "Browne With an E," which will comprise the second part of the programme, will occupy nearly an hour, so that the musical portion will not be/a long one.
