Mr. McKenna, in answer to Mr. Hunt, M.P.j said there was an ample supply of cordite for the navy. PROTECTION OF SHOP ASSISTANTS. Received July 5, 11.45 p.m. London, July 5. Mr. Winston Churchill asked leave to introduce a Bill forbidding shop assistants to work more than 00 hours or after 8 o'clock more than three evenings a week. The Bill also provides for a universal weekly half-holiday. He promised that if the Bill were not opposed, it would be passed during the present session.
