JUDGE CHAPMAN'S STRICTURES. AID OF THE CHURCHES INVOKED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Auckland Ministers' Association, at a meeting to-day, received n. letter signed by n large number of business) firms, drawing attention to the recent references by Mr. .Tustice Chapman to the gambling evil, and, particularly, to the legalised bookmaker. The letter sinraested that on Sunday next, or *uch other day ns roav be convenient, special j services on gambling be nreached in all the churches, and the netitions be placed in the churches for signature, requesting Parliament to revise the recent legislation in the interests of public ■moralitv. 'The renuest of the letter was approved, and a committee was appointed to give effect to it.
