AMUSEMENTS.
MADAME CAEREXO. Madame Teresa Carreno, whose concert here takes place to-morrow (Tuesday) evening, should assure a full house, Herr Benno Seherek's enterprise and liberality by charging only "normal" prices to hear this charming pianist being recognised. Madame Carreno, who js° universally held to be one of the greatest players of the two centuries Wat "have "passed since the pianoforte lias been in existence. It was Hans von Bulow who approved of her playing early in her career, and prophesied a brilliant future for this promising pianist, a prophesy that has been more than fulfilled, as is admitted by all her contemporaries. From Rubinstein Madame Carreno learned the art of piano necromancy. She, too, can control the thun-j der of the storm, and in youth the im-j petuosity of her temperament was :t-e-\ mendous. • Yet so stem has been her self-1 discipline that Hans von Bulow was fore-; ed to confess that she was the only pianist of the fair sex he had ever heard play Beethoven in a satisfactory manner. The box plan is now open at Collier's for the sale of reserved seats.
