DISTRICT NEWS.
WAREA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A social was held in the local schoolroom on Thursday night of last week in aid of the lamp fund. The night was ■beautifully fine and the room was crowded. A very enjoy.-.Mp evening l was spent, although the floor space was somewhat limited, I the settlers are going to get up i few entertainments' this winter in aid of funds for taking up the raised flooring, which will then be first-class for dnncing.. At about midnight an exeelleii; supper, provided by the laides, was handed round and very mucli appreciated. .A splendid programme was given by the school scholars and others. The music was supplied by Miss Kitty Gibbons and Mr. Knight. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr. G. .Dobbin, while Mr. Frank Boardman supplied the dance music.
