■ . ... DISCHARGE OF CARGO. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. Thf discharge of cargo in the No. 1 hold of the Tyser steamer Indradevi is still proceeding. Until the work is completed it will he impossible to survey the cargo with a view to arriving at an estimate of the damage sustained. None I of the remaining l cargo in the other J holds is being discharged, being all for the south. The survey of the vessel was carried out by the Government inspector (Mr. Wetherilt) and Lloyds' surveyor (Captain Clayton) this morning. Various repairs were recommended, including the renewal of the insulation, renovation of the forecastle, etc., but the only repairs it was considered abso- j lutely imperative should be carried out] here are the replacement of several! plates and girders on the 'tween decks, No. 1 hold. This work, it is expected,! will not be completed for at leastaj week. As yet there is no definite in-, formation to hand from the owners in] England as to Avhere the balance of the. repairs will be carried out, but it is more than likely that the vessel will j go south to put her cargo out before j this is done. "The Minister for Marine] ('Hon. J. A. Millar) has ordered aj Magisterial enquiry into the fire on the Tndradevi, and this will be held on| Saturday next. I MAGISTERIAL ENQUIRY. "Wellington, Last Night. The Department has given instructions for a Magisterial enquiry at Auckland concerning the recent fire on the Indradevi, as it has been suggested that the fire mav have been due to spontaneous combustion in the charcoal insulation. It hnsheen decided to have scientific advice. Therefore Professor F. D. Brown. Professor of Chemistry, has been appointed as one of the assessors, and Captain W. J. Reed, a retired shipmaster, as the other. The dates of the enquiry will be fixed shortly.
