A GREAT STAMPEDE. GOVERNMENT SCEPTICAL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Ottawa, June 27. Though there is a great stampede from all over Canada to the new goldfields, the Government are sceptical without further information. CONFLICTING ACCOUNTS. "BIGGER BOOM THAN KLONDYKE." Received June 29, 12.15 a.m. Ottawa, June 28. Advices from Stewart are conflicting. Some predict a bigger boom than Klondike, but there is no official information. Northern-bound vessels leaving Vancouver are filled with passengers. Thousands of claims have been staked in Portland Canal district. The ''Morning Post" correspondent at Victoria reports that the find consists of a big reef of iron pyrites and porphyry containing free milling gold, but the find is not a rich one.
