INGLEWOOD NEWS
(From Our Own Corresponded*.) On Eriddy evening a, team of cribbage players wendea 'their way Ingk-wood-wards'ito fconcliisions with the local Draids| Club. The couii% proved too good fbr ttie itown, winning by 44 games to 28. The home team entertained the visitors at supper. The "Mounteds," who went into camp at Waitara on Sunday, the 19th, returned on Saturday afternoon. They speak in. glowing terms of the treatment which they received when under canvas. The golf match between Stratford and the local team provided a very exciting go, the issue ibeing in doubt right to°the last hole. Inglewood are rightly proud of being able to draw with a team so much older and longer established than themselves. Inglewood's acting talent are at present bringing all their powers to bear on the production of a farce, "Ici on| Parle Fnvncais," which' will be staged at the beginning of next month, The proceeds will go towards the funds of the Volunteer Fire Brigade; Fire Brigades in general have much to put up 'with, and perhaps the largest lump to swallow is having to turn out for a burning chimney., The local bri-j gade were called out on such an errand twice last week. It is, to say the least I of it, annoying to 'a fireman to And,l after he has dropped his work or roused himself from bed and run himself to a standstill by a half-mile sprat, that the chimney which was the innocent cause of the alarm has burnt itself out. Iwlewod will sliortlv be able to enjoy the benefits of technical classes, a want which has long been felt in this and surrounding districts.
