UNIVERSITY REFORM.
ASSOCIATION'S OBJECTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The newly formed University Reform Association met to-night. The objects were adopted fis follows:—(1) To in-' crease the efficiency of university education in New Zealand; (2) to improve and co-ordinate the system of 'government of New Zealand universities and colleges, and obtain for the colleges a larger measure of self government; (3) to obtain for universities and colleges an assured finance; (4) to obtain the abolition 1 of external examination; (5) to endeavor to improve libraries and equipment of universities and colleges; (fi) to obtain the co-operation of any similar bodies that may sympathise with all or any of tlie objects of the Association.
It was decided to write to all examiners in Great Britain, to graduates of New Zealand universities teaching in other universities, and to such other persons in the academic world as the committee may think fit, placing before them the .position in New Zealand with regard to examinations, and asking their advice.
