MINER KILLED.
SHOT EXPLODES UNEXPECTEDLY. BV Telegraph—Press Association. Wbangarei, Last Night. Harry Wetherall, a married man, aged forty, died in the hospital this afternoon as a result of injuries sustained in the Kiripa.ka coal mine on. Friday. Deceased, in advance of several other miners, returned to the locality wnere blasting charges had exploded, believing all were spent. One unexplodcd charge detonated as Wetherall readied the spot, the flying rock causing desperate wounds to his head. He leaves a family of young children.
