Senor Souza, a governor of the Colonial Bank, has formed a new Cabinet after several others had refused. The crisis is due to a scandal arising out of Suciano de Castro's presidentship of a semi-official financial establishment, the Credits Predial, wherein a large deficit, covered iby falsified accounts, was discovered. Criminal proceedings have been started against De Castro, who had for a long time controlled an overwhelming majority in the Chamber.
