THE STATE AND LABOR.
BOYCOTT FOR WAGES-RAISING ILLEGAL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received June 26, 5.15 p.m. London, June 25. Tie Times' Washington correspondent says that President Taft has persuaded Congress to eliminate legislation making labor unions immune from Sherman's Act. This supplements the decision of the Supreme Court holding that a boycott lor the purpose of increasing wages and shortening hours is tantamount to a conspiracy for the restraint of trade. The American Federation of Labor resents President Taft's action.
