RAHOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent). The sacred cantata "Christie" was rendered on Wednesday evening by the choir of the Rahotu Methodist Church, assisted by friends. The eveninr was not very (propitious, b*t in spite of this the church was well filled, and on the whole the production was well received. The soloists were Misses Cook and K Laybourn and Messrs. M. Hughson and McClymont. Miss Laybourn .presided at the organ, whilst the connective readings by Mr. A. Gray left nothing to be desired. The cantata will be rendered at Oaonui next Wednesday evening, the 27th instant, the proceeds to go to the trust funds of the church. The public school reopened on Tuesday morning, when the Health Officer was in attendance. There are still a few isolated cases, Ibut not of a serious nature. The footpaths in Kahotu will soon be an accomplished fact, the foreman having received instruction to proceed with the work.
