THIRD DAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. , Palmerston North, Last Night. The National Dairy Show continued in fine weather to-day. The pony leaping competition was won by Little Wonder, with Blue Bell second. The maiden hunters' competition was won by C. A. Banks' Charlie, O. N. Druce's Sam being second. The milk-testing competition resulted: W, Gowler's entry, 98 points, 1; G. Hill,97 points, 2; M. Bassett, 96 points, 3. BREEDERS' ASSOCIATIONS. ■ At a meeting ofvLincoln sheep breeders to-day is was resolved to form an association. A draft set of rules was adopted, and a committee, consisting of Messrs. W. Perry and D. McGregor (Masterton) and F. G. Lethbridge (Turakina), was appointed to carry on the business till the next annual meeting and to see to the registration of the association.

At a meeting of the Hereford Breeders' Association it was resolved to vote £2O towards the expenses of bringing a judge from Australia to judge i Hereforls at the Manawatu spring show. I It was also decided to offer a handsome piece of plate for the best two-year-old Horefiords at the Manawatu spring show, i show, ' and prizes of three and two guineas for the first and second respectively in the class for the best pen of three-year-old crossbred bullocks at the spring show at Gisborrie. At a mqeting of farmers a Holstein she'ep breeders' association was formed, Mr. Coleman Phillips |Wairarapa) 'being elected president. —. SMOKE CONCERT. Palmerston North, Last Night. A smoke concert in connection with the National Dairy Show was held tonight. The Hon. T. Mackenzie (Minister for Agriculture) and Mr. R. MeNafo were present, Mr. Mackenzie, replying to the toast ■ of the Ministry, said, in connection with] the Dairy School, that, the institution would never be founded at Palmerston or anywhere else while the Department had something better to do with the money. He also referred to.the dairy instructors, and to the fine work being done by them, and hoped that more instructors would be appointed. Mr. Mackenzie said the British Empire was on the threshold of an era of great prosperity, anil that the prospects for the agriculturists of the Dominion had never been better.
