MISSIONARY CONFERENCE.
CAUSE OF ALL THE DIFFICULTIES. DISUNITED HOME CHURCHES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. I Received June 24, 12.40 a.m. j London, June 23. At the missionary conference the Rev. H. H. Wootton, representing the Victorian Missions, said that almost all the difficulties attending the world organisation were due to the disunited state of the Home churches. Co-operation was now desired, and already had been reached in Australia.
The Rev. John R. Mott, of New York, chairman of the conference, said tiiere was something impressive in the representatives of a young continent summoning the older nations to unite in order to fulfil the conference's purpose. Australia's message, he felt sure, would not fall on deaf ears.
The Bishop of Gippsland detailed the circumstances, making for Australian unity and the present position of the negotiations.
