The various replies declared the King's > earnest desire to follow in the late King Edward's footsteps, and labor for the 1 unity, peace, happiness and prosperity of the Empire, and strive to promote its moral interests and maintain\ its civil and religious liberty, which is the basis of progress and spiritual vitality.
