The political committee of the National Liberal Club adopted a resolution which, while expressing complete confidence in the Government and recognising that a general election at the present juncture was not in the ";rst interests of the country, emphases the importance of regarding the House of CoMMnons' resolutions as the only basis of settlement, and adds: "The essential point is to secure that the will of the House of Commons shall prevail in ail matters of legislation within the life of One Parliament, and the present moment as opportune for considering the reform of «the Lords."
