Dr. Gore, Bishop o' Birmingham, testifying to the Divorce Commission, urged ■the restriction of marriages after "divorce to the registrar's office. This was the best course, and 'would render civil marriage in all cases obligatory and leave the Christian bodies to celebrate the religious rites in the ease of those desiring them.
