The International Congress of Chambers of Commerce and Industrial Associations, 450 delegates attending, representing twenty nations, was opened at the Hotel Cecil. Mr. Sydney Buxton (Postmaster-General) welcomed the delegates on behalf of the Government. Dr. McKinnon Wood trusted that as an outcome of the proceedings of the conference arbitration would in future settle international commercial disputes. The Congress recommended interfcational action in fixing Easter on tile ilrst Sunday after the fourth of, April.
