BAKERS 'AND PASTRY COOKS. By Telegraph—Press Association, Auckland, June 18. A conference of bakers and pastry cooks, attended by representatives of the southern unions, has just concluded at Auckland. It was decided to federate all unions of bakers and pastry cooks in the Dominion as early as possible. Claims were formulated as a basis for a Dominion award and accepted as a standard for affiliated unions. The executive council will be in Auckland for twelve months. Mr. Veale was appointed secretary. XAPIER HOSPXTAL. Naapier, June 18. The hospital trustees have received a donation of £SOO from Mrs. Robjohns, a very old settler, towards the erectionof a female surgical ward.
