Mr. Carey: It tells you that the child when twelve months' oM 4i,.uld have porridge or home-made bread with milk, breadcrumbs, boiled eggs, stewed fruit, •and milk. etc. Have vou been able to do that?— Witness: No.'
Mr. Carey: It tells you that at eighteen months a child should have "listi, fowl, or meat mixed with breadcrumbs." Have you been able to follow those instructions';—Xo.
Mr. Carey: They told you that for the good of the baby' and the good of Xew Zealand you should do thisY—Yes. Mr. Carey: But your husband's wages won't allow you to do it?—Xo.
